Travel & Specialist Vaccine Supply for New Zealand
Vaccine sourcing and controlled supply for New Zealand healthcare professionals
HL Pharma supports New Zealand healthcare professionals, travel medicine clinics, pharmacies, hospitals and specialist healthcare providers requiring travel and specialist vaccines that are unavailable or difficult to obtain through standard local supply channels.
Through our international network of more than 15 countries and our Melbourne pharmaceutical depot, we coordinate product sourcing, verification, temperature-controlled handling and export supply into New Zealand through appropriately licensed local partners.
Supply remains subject to product availability, applicable New Zealand regulatory requirements, prescriber authorisation and any required import arrangements. For healthcare professionals and healthcare organisations only. HL Pharma does not supply vaccines directly to patients or consumers.
Travel and Specialist Vaccine Supply
HL Pharma supports travel medicine and specialist vaccine requirements where a product is difficult to source, affected by shortage, discontinued from usual supply channels or not routinely available in New Zealand.
We work with healthcare providers to identify appropriate international sourcing options and establish a controlled supply pathway based on the specific product, clinical requirement and regulatory status. Clinical assessment, vaccine selection, prescribing and administration remain the responsibility of the treating healthcare professional.
New Zealand Access and Import Coordination
Where a vaccine is not approved for general distribution in New Zealand, the appropriate access pathway must be established before supply proceeds.
Where Section 29 of the Medicines Act 1981 applies, supply relates to an unapproved medicine required for a named patient under the care of an eligible prescriber. See Critical and Compassionate Medicine Supply for more on named-patient access pathways. HL Pharma coordinates product documentation, export supply and pharmaceutical logistics while working with appropriately licensed New Zealand wholesalers or pharmacies responsible for local importation and supply.
Cold-Chain Vaccine Supply
Our Melbourne pharmaceutical depot provides validated temperature-controlled handling supported by continuous monitoring, documented deviation management, quarantine controls and batch and expiry traceability. Where refrigerated transport is required, qualified cold-chain packaging and specialist pharmaceutical freight are coordinated for supply into New Zealand.
Product Verification and Traceability
Each sourcing requirement includes verification of the international manufacturer or pharmaceutical supplier and review of available product documentation. Batch, expiry, shipment and supply-chain records support traceability from source through to onward supply into New Zealand.
Who We Support
HL Pharma supports travel medicine clinics, general practices providing travel health services, hospital pharmacies, specialist clinics, infectious disease services, occupational health providers, pharmacies, healthcare organisations and pharmaceutical companies across New Zealand. We can support individual requirements as well as planned or recurring vaccine supply where standard New Zealand channels cannot meet clinical or operational needs. For sponsor-led or programme-level access, see Managed Access Programmes.
